Benaras has left a deep imprint on Ram Kumar. The city and its surroundings will mark him for life, as after his journey he will put his heart and soul into abstract painting. This painting "Benaras landscape", 1960, is inspired by the town of Benaras itself. Kumar did it with the gloomy, cluttered and dirty character of the town in mind.
